Frequently Asked Questions
About SoulWhisp
What is SoulWhisp?
SoulWhisp is an AI-powered listener built on real crisis listening principles -- from years of volunteer experience with people going through suicidal thoughts, trauma, addiction, and deep emotional pain.
But it's not therapy. It's not crisis intervention. It's a practice space.
Think of it as a practice conversation. Before you have the real conversation with a counsellor, a friend, or a helpline, you can practise here. Get things off your chest. Untangle what you're feeling. Find the exact words. Build confidence. Then, when you're ready, you say it for real.
Is it really free?
Yes. Completely free. No hidden fees, no premium features, no paywalls.
If you want to support SoulWhisp so we can keep it free for others, you can make an optional donation. But you never have to.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Just come, talk, and go. Anonymous. No email, no name, no personal information.
In the future we might offer optional accounts for things like chat history. But free anonymous use will always be here.
Who can use SoulWhisp?
Anyone 13 or older who needs a space to say something out loud.
You don't need to be in crisis. You don't need a diagnosis. People use it for depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, guilt, shame, loneliness -- any form of emotional distress.
If you're 13-17: We recommend parental awareness (though we don't require parental consent). Parents should know conversations are completely private -- we can't see them.
Privacy & Confidentiality
Can anyone see what I say?
No. Full stop. Not our staff, not anyone.
Your messages are processed by AI in real-time to give you a response. They're deleted immediately when you close the chat. We don't store them, create profiles, or track what you say.
Is it really private?
Yes. We take this seriously because people carrying heavy things need absolute certainty their words stay private.
What we collect:
- - Technical information only (IP address for security, device type, access times)
What we never collect:
- - Conversations, your name, location, or email (unless you donate)
Full details in our Privacy Policy.
Do you use my conversations to train the AI?
No. Never. Your conversations are not used to train anything, improve anything, or help anyone else. Your words are yours alone.
Will you contact authorities if I'm suicidal?
No. We can't. We have no way to identify or locate you.
If you express suicidal thoughts, SoulWhisp will stay present with you, gently suggest professional help, provide crisis helpline numbers, and not panic or force anything.
You're in control. Always.
How SoulWhisp Works
How does it listen?
It reflects your words back so you can hear yourself clearly. It asks gentle questions like "What does that feel like?" or "What's the hardest part?" It never judges. It stays calm with dark thoughts. It follows your pace. It never gives advice -- just helps you find your own words.
Is it like talking to a therapist?
No. This is important.
Therapy has clinical goals, treatment plans, and diagnoses. A therapist is trained to treat conditions.
SoulWhisp just listens. It creates space for you to practise putting your feelings into words. No goals, no diagnosis, no treatment. It's a practice conversation, not professional mental health care.
Will SoulWhisp remember our previous conversations?
No. Each conversation is completely separate. Nothing is stored or remembered.
This protects your privacy. It also means you start fresh every time -- no baggage from before.
Can SoulWhisp help me in a crisis?
SoulWhisp is not equipped for active emergencies. It can listen and point you to real help -- but it can't track your location, contact authorities, or intervene.
If you are in immediate danger:
- - Call emergency services: 911 (US), 999 (UK), 112 (EU)
- - Call a crisis hotline: 988 (US), 116 123 (UK Samaritans)
- - Go to the nearest emergency room
SoulWhisp can provide emotional support and reflection, but cannot:
- - Track your location
- - Contact emergency services for you
- - Identify who you are
- - Intervene in a crisis
What can I talk about?
Anything causing you emotional pain. Depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, shame, loneliness, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, overwhelming emotions -- anything.
You don't need a "big" problem. If it feels big to you, it matters.
What is SoulWhisp NOT for?
It's not for sexual or romantic conversation, entertainment or casual chat, homework help or general questions, testing or "tricking" the AI, or spam and automated use.
When people misuse it, they take that space away from someone who needs it.
